US Airways flight crews are wearing rubber gloves and using hand sanitizer on flights to and from Mexico in response to the swine flu outbreak in that country. Cases have shown up in San Diego, New York and other U.S. cities.

Valerie Wunder, a spokeswoman for the airline, said crews on those flights are wearing gloves and using sanitizer as a precaution when picking up food and drinks from passengers. She also said crews were not wearing surgical masks, though they are in common use in Mexico City, where approximately 1,600 cases and more than 100 deaths have been reported.
